Fireflies Rules:
- You must be civil to one another, you don't have to be friends but you must be civil. I know not everyone will always get along, if it's really bad you can mute the other person but please do not bring or spread your drama in the Fireflies group. I personally do not wish to have drama so if it is brought into the Fireflies group you will be asked to leave whatever activity we are doing at the time till you have it under control. I will not take sides. We have a 3-strike policy:1-You will be privately spoken to.2-Adults will be spoken to the 2nd time, and Kid's caregivers will be contacted(if there is one).3- You will be removed from scouts. For those who wish to take part in scouts but have limited time on Secondlife ie 1 or 2 days a week speak with Melody Mordly and something can be worked out so that you can still earn badges.
- Special No flashing light huds due to seizures are triggered by flashing lights.
- Any malicious behavior with result in an instant ban
- Although we understand not everyone is SL will get along and if for whatever reason you are having an issue with someone please feel free to mute them for your own peace of mind.
- We appreciate that you want the best for Scouts but unless someone comes to scout land or group and starts an issue there is nothing we can do about it. We can not just ban people from one person's say-so. We understand it can be stressful but there is no need to keep bringing up a problem and stressing out everyone else with a what-if situation. Thank you for your understanding.
- Please note all of our scout mentors are off duty after 6pm slt Please understand and respect their time as they volunteer all their time in helping make scouts a better place.
- Please note Miss Melly can not friend everyone as her friends list is out of control with too many people she can't remember who most are, so please don't be offended.
Dress-Up Badges: You can only do one dress-up badge at a time. However, you can combine it with an accessories badge.
Accessories Badges: You can only do one Accessories badge at a time. As you saw it can be combined with a dress-up badge.
Both individual badges must be worn for at least 1 hour a day. You must take a daily photo (gyazo/screenshot) in front of the time clock each day. Next, you must ask in the group chat or Discord for a witness each day (they do not need to be in the photo with you unless you both want to). Once you have your photo and your witness you should post it on your badge notecard.
If you for some reason miss a day you can just add it on at the end till you have a full seven days to finish the badges.
Witness: You can only use the same witness a max of 3 times. Witnessing must be done in person. You also can not use your own alt as a witness.
NOTE: If you can not do a seven-day badge daily due to real life or any other reason just speak to Melly and something can be worked out with no problem.
Clarification on witnessing: There are some older badge notecards that still might say witnesses must be in the evidence photo with you. This rule has been changed they do NOT need to be in your evidence photo with you anymore.

Activities badges, Movies badges, Game badges, DFS badges, and Breedable badges: All have their own directions for each individual badge so follow those and any questions just ask in-group/Discord, Mentors, or even Miss Melly.
Unless otherwise stated all series badges can be recorded consecutively IE: if a badge is for 6 months and there was a 3-month badge you may include the first 3 months onto the 6-month badge and so on.
Flash Mobs: Please see me if you wish to host this event as I have safe approved locations and possible dancers for this badge. Flash mob goers should all meet at Fireflies 15 mins before the start of the event in order to get into a group call (no you don't have to voice it's for the passing of information mostly) and make sure everyone can at least hear a voice. If your PC runs a bit slow be sure to restart SL or your PC beforehand. Be dressed for the event in its theme and ready to go.
DFS (Digital Farming System): All items for the DFS badges must be grown on your farm you are NOT allowed to purchase any items other than SaltMills as we don't have a saltwater fishing server yet. You may team up with another scout where one or both of you Care for the farm and one or both of you do all the crafting needed for the badge. If you would like to know more about DFS, please Contact Melly Fleming (Melody Mordly). PLEASE NOTE: If you work someone else farm for a job or large family in order for the harvests to count you have to work those fields from start to finish on your own. Any items used to craft any badge must be grown and tended by you. You are allowed to team up with 1 other scout for any badges and split up the duties.
Hogwarts House Points: You will earn points for attending scouts' scheduled weekly events ie stories, movies, games, etc. If you are more than 15mins late you do not qualify for house points for that event. All events must be in person in SL unless it is a movie on Discord.Photo/gyazos should be taken at each event showing the event in attendance as proof. Want to be sorted into a Hogwarts house? Fill out the application page on this site with the results you have gotten from https://www.wizardingworld.com/.
I Participated Badges: Doing these badges are meant to help other scouts. For example, If Jane and Bobby need to do work on their Month of January badge hosting a 30 min event, You can only count that as 1 I participated. You should not be working on that event for yourself for the Month of January badge must be separate.
Note: Witnessing doesn't count, it has to be something like a field trip, tea party, hearing fun facts (this is for an actual fun fact badge) not any other badges, or any activity they need help with that you yourself are not doing.
Finally, one type of activity can only be used once per the I Participated Badge i.e. Bobby is doing the Tea Party for the Month of the badge and you help him with that you can count it on your I Participated badge. Now 2 days later Jane needs help making up the Tea Party badge for her month of badge you can not count that on the I participated badge level you are currently working on. That doesn't mean you can't still be a good scout friend and help them.
Sleep Overs: Guidelines coming soon

Month-Specific badges: These badges can only be done on their specific months no exceptions.
The month of badges: These badges have different activities you can do on miscellaneous days though out the month telling you to do, wear or say different things, etc (please note if you are asked to wear an item it must be worn ALL day long unline the dress-ups or accessories badges).

Badge turn-ins: The badge turn-in day is the 1st of each month, please be sure to use the Badge turn-in notecard found by the green mailbox at scouts. How badge turn-in works is you fill in the information it asks for then you just drag all the badge notecards you have been working on all month into it and then drop it into the green mailbox just inside the scout door.
Meeting time: We only have scout meetings once a month the last Saturday and these meetings are not mandatory but it is a good way to see new badges and ask questions. We do try and take a group photo after each monthly meeting.
